Jenni is the Founding CEO and the current Executive Director of Laramie Foster Closet. She earned her B.A. degree in Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida and is currently attending the University of Denver for her Master’s in Social Work.
Jenni founded Laramie Foster Closet with her husband, Alan, in January of 2017 following many years of working with youth in foster care as a stay at home foster mom. She has participated in numerous community advocacy events and special initiatives and has spoken at many events to advocate for youth in foster care. The majority of her work has stemmed from working with at-risk dependent and unaccompanied children and youth. Prior to spearheading implementation of Laramie Foster Closet, Jenni was primarily a stay at home mom, professional writer, and foster mom.
Jenni has significant experience developing and administering social programs and initiatives, executing growth plans, implementing programs, building organization capacity, building community coalitions, and managing overall non-profit operations.
Since 2017, Jenni has individually met over 200 youth in the foster care system and their foster parents. Jenni’s passion to serve at Laramie Foster Closet stems from her faith and her experiences with the foster care systems in the states of Florida and Wyoming. Jenni believes each foster parent is a treasure because of their selflessness and their willingness to open their homes to children from hard places. Jenni’s vision for Laramie Foster Closet is for it to become a community support network for foster families which will encourage, uplift and inspire while raising awareness in the community.
Jenni is currently also the Founding CEO and the current Executive Director of Haven House, a new nonprofit in Laramie, Wyoming which will serve homeless youth and youth aged out of foster care.

Silje Bennett
Board Member
Silje@laramiefostercloset.com

Silje grew up in Arendal, Norway with wonderful role models that made sure she cared for others and spoke up for those that not always had a voice. Throughout her years in Norway she had a genuine interest for helping children in foster care, but it was not until she moved to Laramie she saw the difference an organization like Laramie Foster Closet could make. Silje has been involved with Laramie Foster Closet as a volunteer since 2016. Her heart for hurt children makes her an incredible asset to the foster care community. Silje became a board member of LFC because she believes no child should go without food or clothing, and that it is our responsibility as adults to make this world a safer place for all our children.
